Enhanced General Data Dissemination system (e-GDDS)
On 4 September 2017, Montenegro provided public access to data published through an Enhanced General Data Dissemination System (e-GDDS) within the International Monetary Fund (IMF) (IMF - Dissemination Standards Bulletin Board), which replaces the General Data Dissemination System GDDS.
The e-GDDS was introduced by the IMF Board in May 2015 with the aim of improving transparency, encouraging statistical development and creating synergies between data dissemination and monitoring.
A mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF)’s Statistics Department visited Podgorica during June 28–July 4, 2017 to assist the authorities (Ministry of Finance, Statistical Office of Montenegro and Central Bank of Montenegro) with the implementation of the Enhanced General Data Dissemination System (e-GDDS) and the development of a National Summary Data Page (NSDP). Over the past months, the main statistical agencies involved have worked together to finalize the NSDP, utilizing the Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange (SDMX). The NSDP is now posted on the website of the Statistical Office of Montenegro (NSDP- Montenegro) and on website of the International Monetary Fund (IMF - Dissemination Standards Bulletin Board).
Publication of essential macroeconomic data through the new NSDP will provide policy makers and stakeholders, including investors and rating agencies, with easy access to information critical for monitoring economic conditions and policies.
